36 weeks and 6 days.

Whoops. Well this pregnancy blog did NOT turn out the way we thought it would... I guess we didn't anticipate our life getting in the way of keeping you all up-to-date like it did.  Well since my last post in November (Oh, you know over 6 months ago) A LOT has happened.

  • We've had a total of 3 ultrasounds.
    • 1. Our first ultrasound was on November  16, 2011.  Like I said in the previous post this was the ultrasound to tell us how far along we are and the estimated due date.  Turns out we were around 7 weeks with an estimated due date of July 1st, 2012.  At that first ultrasound Baby K was the size of a pinkie nail. So small compared to the watermelon size Baby K has grown to now, but big enough for us to hear the beast of a heart beat.  It was very unreal hearing the heart beat for the first time, definitely became real to us at that moment.
    • 2. The second ultrasound we had was on February 14, 2012, Valentine's Day.  At this ultrasound we were to find out the gender.  It was funny as Isaac and I were walking into Womack Hospital Isaac started showing me how he would react when we found out what gender Baby K is.  If it was a girl he said he would be like "awwwww", and if it was a boy he would start fist pumping and cheering really loud. Well the moment of truth came and the ultrasound technican annouced we were having..*drum roll please* A GIRL!!! (Like I have told Isaac all along.) Well, I start crying immediately and I look at Isaac (his face was priceless), his jaw looked like it had hit the floor and I could see tears in his eyes. He honestly thought there was no possible way that we could have a girl, his face was one of pure shock.
    • 3. My 3rd and last ultrasound was on March 30, 2012.  Normally the Army only offers 1 ultrasound which is at 20 weeks to make sure the baby is growing normally, but since we weren't sure of when I became pregnant and then the doctor wanted better pictures of her heart so we were blessed to have seen her 3 times.
  • A Baby Shower was thrown! I went to Saint Louis and on April 21, 2012 my mom threw Isaac and I a baby shower.  All my closest friends and family were there.  It was great to see them and share this exciting time with them.  Our baby girl got some awesome things! She got a car seat, a stroller, two amazing scrapbooks, a pack n play, an convertible crib, and the most adorable clothes! Which I will be sure to put pictures up of her modeling. ;)
  • We picked a name!  This was probably the most difficult decision we have had to make...But we decided on Kylee Elise Kinnard.  We will call her Kylee. :)  We came up with this name because Lee is my mom's middle name and Elise is Isaac's mom's middle name so our baby will always have a part of them with her.
  • And lastly and most recently we had maternity pictures taken.  Not being biased or anything, but they are absolutely adorable!  They were taken by a photographer I found on Facebook (Flashy Faces Photography).  It was important to me to have them taken so we could remember this awesome time in our lives and Isaac was a good sport agreeing to let me have them taken of us. (Because if  you know Isaac he HATES pictures.)  Below you will find a couple of my favorites!

She is going to be SUCH a daddy's girl.

She already has our heart. <3

See A LOT has happened.  At this point in time I am 36 weeks and 6 days pregnant which means only 3 weeks and 1 day left (maybe)! I will be sure to post another post with my belly progress throughout this whole journey.  It took me forever for me to start showing!

I have loved being pregnant.  It is definitely an experience that is undescribable. But I think it is safe to say that I am definitely at the point where I just want to see my beautiful baby girl's face.  The whole looking down and not being able to see your pregnant swelling feet is getting quite old.  Not to mention the tossing and turning at night with the never being able finding a comfortable position to lay without your back aching isn't fun either.

BUT we are almost there and the thought of being parent's has Isaac and I on cloud 9! I promise to make more of an effort with this blog because in the future it will be fun to look back with Kylee and show her our journey during the 9 months I was pregnant with her.

Next Appointment: Tuesday June 12, 2012 Womack Hospital

OB Intake Appointment

First appointment down, now onto the ultrasound!

Yesterday, Monday November 7, 2011, Isaac and I had our first OB appointment. This was an intake appointment which consisted of LOTS of paperwork and questions. They just needed to know our medical history to make sure they are doing the right things to ensure our little bundle of joy will be healthy.

They are having me call to schedule an ultrasound to find out how far along I am and when our sweet baby's due date is. We will be sure to keep you updated on when we get the ultrasound scheduled.

We did find out at this appointment that we will only have one more appointment at the Robinson-Roscoe Clinic (which is conveniently right next to Isaac's troop) and then they will be transferring us to Womack Hospital because they are running low on doctors to take care of us there. Boo! Hello crowded hospital, goodbye convenience!

Isaac's arm is about to come out of its socket from all the fist pumping he is still doing due to the excitement of becoming an daddy. While I personally can't wait for this first trimester to be over so hopefully all the fatigue, nausea, and crappiness can subside some.

Please continue your prayers over the next nine months, that our sweet baby is healthy.

Baby K on the Way!!!

Baby K on the Way!!!

We are going to be parents! On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 we took 3 positive pregnancy tests after Alison showed signs of being pregnant. The next Wednesday Ali took the blood test and we received confirmation that she is preggers.

Lately Ali hasn't been feeling well, feeling nauseous, tired (more than normal because she is always tired,) and a heightened sense of smell. However I have been basically fist pumping everywhere I go due to the excitement.

Alison came up with the idea to make this blog in order to keep everybody up-to-date with how everything is going, since we are in North Carolina. I have already received multiple text messages with my friends calling me unflattering names since I didn't call them even though I was in the field training. Also, one day we can show this to Baby K.

Upcoming events: Monday Nov. 7 OB intake appointment

Please give us your prayers for the next nine months as we are pregnant with our first child, and that it is healthy!
